In 2022 Twin City Seed President Paul Kubista announced that 5% of Turfgrass seed sales will be donated to the University of Minnesota Turfgrass Science lab to support continued research in turfgrass science. Paul and the team at Twin City Seed believe that it is important to support research efforts in turfgrass science to ensure continued advancements in this discipline. The University of Minnesota Turfgrass Science lab has been instrumental in leading turfgrass research efforts around the country – from collaborating on NTEP (National Turfgrass Evaluation Program) trials, to paving the way in low-input turfgrass research and opening doors to pollinator conservation in turfgrass science by leading research efforts on Bee Lawns.
“It’s really great to be able to support a local academic institution in the turf community” said Kubista. “The work that Eric does, that his lab does, it helps to ensure the the turf community as a whole continues to push forward. We always keep our eyes and ears open to what’s going on down at the lab, and it’s exciting to be able to contribute to their efforts where we can”.
