MOLALLA PERENNIAL RYEGRASS (tested as PST-2ETS) is an elite, endophyte enhanced, and fast starting new perennial ryegrass from Vista Seed Partners. It produces a very attractive, stress tolerant perennial turf surface in the north and a top quality overseeded turf surface in the south. Developed by the breeders at Pure Seed Testing and licensed to Vista Seed Partners, Molalla is the perfect fit for any seeding application!

Molalla has a dark green color, a medium fine leaf texture, and can be mowed at cutting heights down to 1/4 inch. A persistent and heat tolerant variety with excellent summer performance, Molalla’s overall disease resistance is very good. It has very good resistance to Gray Leaf Spot, good resistance to Brown Patch, and has performed excellently in overseeding trials.

Molalla is excellent when used on golf course fairways, tees, and roughs, for sports turf (both new plantings or for overseeding), for homes, parks, and industrial lawns. It establishes quickly, forms an attractive turf, and has scored well in turf color and quality in Oregon, North Carolina, and in the CTBC (Commercial Turf Breeders Cooperative trials). Molalla blends well with other perennial ryegrasses, and mixes well with fine fescues, Kentucky bluegrass, tall fescue, and Poa trivialis. For the quickest establishment and genetic diversity, mix with Kentucky bluegrass and fine fescue.
